Today was an unexpected day off from work. I was planning on going in and wading through the paperwork that mates at night when we are all gone home for the night and produces ridiculous amounts of more paperwork for me to do everyday in my IN box. Yesterday the phones were not busy, and I guess today is more of the same. Anyway, I was faced with the entire day stretched out in front of me. Hmmmm....what to do? I quickly ran through the choices, and decided that I had a great book that needed reading immediately. While there are dishes in the sink and dust bunnies reproducing like mad, John Grisham won out hands down.
Since reading is soooo strenuous, it was necessary to take a nap shortly after. Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do, right?

The livingroom/diningroom is finally completed, and I think it looks great. I have one wall that needs something, it plainly calls for some kind of shopping trip, to be determined later. I really don't have much fun shopping alone, and all my summer buddies are kinda far away to call up and say "let's go shopping". Rodney is about as much fun to shop with as a poke in the eye would be. He is still kinda sorta in the dog house over his neglect of valentines day. In his defense, he says it's just another day for him, well hell, everybody with a brain knows valentines day is for women. Enough said about that.

This weekend is the winter gathering for all of us seasonals at the campground. I am really looking forward to going. I get to see our friends again, and get a chance to check out all the new people that are coming in. Since there are a couple of open sites near us, it is muy important to see who we are going to be neighbors with. Hopefully people with a sense of humor, as we are a pretty fun bunch.

As I sit here at my desk at work, I can look out the two huge windows in the front of the building and watch the wind whip across the parking lot and road. Can you say COLD. It has been what Winnie the Pooh would call a Blustery Day, for two days. With all the snow that we have gotten the last couple of weeks, the shoveling is tough and the roofs of the house and garage are piled high.
Other than that, we were invited to Gary and Sheri's house for a get together with some of their friends and some wicked good food. We played some left, right, center, and Rodney and I were pretty lucky with winning quite a few pots. Since we were playing for dollars, we made out like bandits.
After looking at the ceiling in our livingroom/diningroom, we decided that it was in need of a paint job. We decided to hire this job out since it is a vaulted ceiling, and neither one of us wanted to paint up over our heads. To make a long story short, the ceiling came out great, and one thing leads to another when it comes to painting, so now we are almost done painting the walls, replacing the moulding around all the doors and windows, and brand new baseboard enclosures. I think the room will look fabulous. Rodney made a comment about how if the housing market wasn't so lousy, we could fix up this house and sell it and make a profit. I have no intention of moving any time soon. I am perfectly happy with where we are living, and am going to be for a very long time.
