Here it is, the opening weekend of camping and it has rained for most of the weekend. The weatherman predicted rain on Sunday, and it started in on Sat. morning. I swear, being a weather person is the only job that I know of that you can be freakin' wrong more often than not and not get fired and they pay you for it. WTF!
Rodney had a club fishing tournament yesterday, and because of the afore mentioned lame ass weather reporting, he didn't take his rain gear. So by the end of the day he was not only cold, but wet and didn't catch anything. He was fishing with his friend Randy, and I asked how he did, and it turns out that Randy won the tournament. I said what were you doing, and he said supposedly the same thing that Randy was doing....apparently NOT.
Anywho...it has been a great time reconnecting with old friends and catching up on the happenings over the long cold winter, and we met some new neighbors. Our neighbors at home, Donna and Mark have moved in across the road here at the campground and are getting their new camper and site ready for the summer. I really hope that they like it here. We had a bunch of friends over at our site after dinner to huddle on the deck under the awning and share some laughs and gripe about the weather while we stared whistfully at the campfire blazing 5 feet from us.
I'm looking forward to another terrific summer here at camp. Should be a fun one!
